"After years of struggling to get my license I changed teachers and started with Volkan, he immediately switched me to automatic gears and was so kind and patient that I got my license at the next attempt, such a relief! Good school to learn everything in English and of course, I can really recommend Volkan!"

"I had a great experience with Fahrschule Südstern! The whole process was fast and efficient, and I went from having no driving experience to getting my license in just a couple of months. I can recommend this to anyone looking for an English-speaking driving school in Berlin."

"PLEASE READ: I paid almost 6k to this school and attended ~40 practical classes in 9 months (+ theory classes). Do not give them your money. Here's my experience: I began classes with Bülent. He often showed up tired and late and it was very hard to communicate with him as he barely spoke English. When he went on holidays, I was switched to Volkan without any handover which meant repeating some classes as neither of us knew what had been covered previously, including myself as a newbie to driving. That said, Volkan was probably the best teacher of them. He's empathetic, patient and encouraging. He acknowledged that the lessons are too long and the students lose their focus towards the end. Unfortunately, he also went on holidays, and I was moved to Ünal without any handover again. Ünal employed a very critical and aggressive language that put me down and made me constantly think I needed more classes. Even though I drove in other countries and I was doing fairly well, he would find the smallest mistakes and exaggerate them. For instance, he shouted because if I briefly drove at 31 or 32 in 30-zone or because I did not align the car perfectly in the middle of the lane. A couple of times he even asked me: "Are you blind?". Really disrespectful. What made things worse was that Ünal never offered a positive feedback. A balance of praise and constructive criticism is essential for learning, and unfortunately, I received neither. This constant negativity shattered my confidence completely. On one occasion, I asked him why a specific rule was the way it was (I was confused about something). Instead of explaining, his response was, "Tell that to the examiner," followed by a laugh. I then had to tell him that he has to explain otherwise the information won't stick in my head if it doesn't make sense and I'll repeat the mistake. Any decent teacher knows that. Not to mention, that you don't make fun of your students for asking questions. As I prepared for the last exam, Ünal's nitpicking reached its peak, to the point where the examiner even told me that I was being overly cautious. I was being too careful for a clear reason: lack of confidence because of Ünal's nitpicking and the exaggerated reaction to my "mistakes". To make matters worse, at the end of my training, the school tried to claim that they had booked another exam for me and that I needed to pay for it, even though I never agreed to this. A teacher in another school confirmed that such bookings are tentative and can be cancelled easily since there's enough time. This was opposite to their claim that it is "firmly booked" and that the fees will be "fortified" even if I don't attend the exam. This felt like an attempt to squeeze more money out of me. After threatening legal action, they backed off. Throughout my lessons, all three instructors frequently used their phones. I saw them checking social media, playing games, or even taking calls during the lessons. Ünal was discussing deals involving the purchase of gold and cars while we were driving — and then proceeded to tell me all about it. After switching to another school, I realized there are still some basics I lacked despite attending ~40 classes. In the end, the school wasted my time, money, and effort. If you're considering this driving school, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere."

"Passed my test today with Volkan, and I really recommend this school and this instructor! Volkan is patient and kind, speaks English, and gives clear instructions during your lessons with him. It is also clear that he puts the student first, and works hard to make them the best driver they can be. I was an anxious driver, particularly when it came to exams, but Volkan helped me so much to make me feel prepared for the test, calm and in control, which has resulted in me now having a lot of confidence behind the wheel. If you are looking to learn to drive in Berlin, I suggest you come here - I also chose based on Google Reviews and it worked great for me! :) Thank you so much Volkan! ☺️ 🙏 Also a shout out to Enes who is super nice and helpful 😄"

"11/10 experience, really one of a kind instructor, spoke in perfect english and was able to explain every situation and why or how it is necessary. Really made me feel like we're one the same team, and helped me to not waste my time. I've passed the exam in first try and if I had to do it again I would totally go here again!"

"Very good school. I can recommend. My instructor was Ulan and I was more then happy with his teaching. He speaks good English and when you have a question he gives you an explanation on why is something the way it is instead of just telling you to remember it. Passing test with him was also comfortable, without any problems."

"I can not recommend more to get your driver's license with Farhschule Südstern , and if your instructor is Volkan, you are in the best hand!! I passed my practical exam in the first try with Volkan!! Thanks to his patient and encouraging teaching style. He knows the common fail points, and showed me before the exam, which I encountered exactly in the exam and successfully avoided them! He cares saving my money more than myself 🤣, always gives the best advice in the class and only asks me to take the class when it's necessary. He also knows a lot about the examiners in TÜV, the examiners were very friendly to me with Volkan there. He even spoke English to me when I can not speak German. In the end, the exam finished in a very friendly and relaxing vibe, and I successfully passed the exam with only 10 classes with Volkan! The process of the school is also very transparent and smooth. I can only recommend Volkan if you want to pass the exam quickly and without wasting your time and money!"

"Avoid this driving school. There are other schools that provide English lessons with professional, respectful instructors. At this school, the instructors were rude and unprofessional, often using their mobile phones and undermining my confidence when they were the real issue. In my experience, I had three different teachers, all of whom were impatient and frequently raised their voices. The first instructor misled me, saying I could pay for my practical exam on the day of the test at the Tüv office, which prevented me from booking an exam date and forced me to retake my theory test after the first one expired. He also smoked his e-cigarette in the car and was eventually dismissed. The second instructor didn’t speak English, even though the school knew I needed an English-speaking teacher. Despite this, I was still charged a higher rate for English lessons. The third instructor was the school director, who once skipped a lesson without informing me, was frequently late, and even had me go to his home to get the car for our lesson, resulting in a one-hour delay. He often cut lessons short but expected full payment, and became angry when I refused to pay the full amount. He would also lose his temper and talk excessively during lessons, which made it hard for me to concentrate. When I asked him to remain calm, he dismissed my concern, insisting I should get used to driving in stressful conditions. Additionally, the school insisted on payment via cash or PayPal using the "friends and family" option. Ultimately, I decided to change school, and with the help of a calm and professional instructor, I passed my driving exam successfully."
