"I came here to comment and say not to go here Specially if you do not want to overpay a driving school only because they are speaking English you may need to reconsider your thoughts. I had mixed up experience with them … as long as it was about payment and early stages of registration they were nice and cooperative … but for the practical sessions ( i had all with Detlef) i had completely opposite experience … He is emotionally unstable and somewhat rude at many cases and has too much negative opinions about foreigners and their driving skills … although he is making too much money out if them …. Im not sure if you want to deal with such person … note that i learned during the Driving test that he did nit tell me many things about the exam … when i asked him why? he ignored or acted like he is surprised because he was expecting me to know it … Moreover its very normal by him that he cut minutes from driving sessions so a 60 minute session will turn out to be 50 mins and he does that constantly and even when you complain he become defensive … You cannot complain about him to the office because he is the boss there and everyone is scared of him apparently due to the above mentioned reason Be aware this school charged me 3 times more for registration fee and apparently also extra charges for the driving session before exam and also the fee they get when they come to the exam with you … so ar the end i think i paid almost the same as a new starter if not more with this school and they took no responsibility as much as they took money 🙂 They had over 60 days to book another test appointment and also asked me to pay to the exam center but the moment i paid Tüv they said sorry we cannot book new appointment and since i was transferring my Country’s driving license. I missed the period of theory exam validity and had to redo it . Be aware after that the did not answer my calls and suddenly turned to ghosting people … Also personal Recommendation … Do not register with Tüv only because they recommend cause Tüv is well-known for very bad and long if not late appointment system Hope you never have to face such nightmare"

"I would avoid this school at all cost. I did my theory and some of my practical and it turned out to be a completely waste of money in the end. My driving instructor was changed out of the blue and I received another one called Detlef who screamed at me the whole time and blamed me for making mistakes which the first instructor failed to teach me. I had very unsafe driving lessons with my first instructor. Looking at the phone etc. This guy fell asleep on the autobahn during one of our lessons. Detlef would constantly threaten me by saying “ I will give your exam date away to someone else” or make absolutely dumb remarks. I know a lot of English people go here because of their limited German Knowledge and this school uses that to their advantage. I asked for my receipt after paying for a lesson only to be told “am the boss, you don’t need a receipt”. This is when I ran from there. I found the whole thing to be a very big scam. Getting into a car with the second instructor ( Detlef) was an absolutely horror show. This guy traumatised me soo much i had to take a break before finding another driving school. He had no patience whatsoever and believe someone like this should not be a teacher."

"Do not go there — it’s full of lies and completely fraudulent. Most people find this place because of the authority of the English First Aid classes. But in the end, you step into something totally out of control. I started my theory lessons at the beginning of 2024. I was only allowed to book practical lessons after passing the theory exam. The theory lessons cost an additional €399. And there are extra fees for the app. Is this standard at other schools? Obviously not. After passing the theory exam, I had to wait another 6 months to start practical lessons. During that time, they kept canceling and rescheduling, delaying the process by month after month. Eventually, the schedule became extremely intense, because the theory exam result is valid for only one year. The coach, who is also the owner — Detlef — is emotionally unstable. He yelled at me and once forced me to turn left from the right lane, like a truck driver. In reality, I can turn left from the left lane (which is marked for left turns) and stay in the new left lane. That's all, so what’s the problem? He told me to write down my questions, so I emailed him — but he never replied. Later, Detlef accused me of forcing him to respond within one hour. Seriously? Did I ever demand a one-hour reply? Detlef, are you there? If you still believe I pressured you, we can go to court. All emails are recorded, and I never demanded a one-hour response. The email simply asked technical questions about the left turn. Detlef always says some words like: • “It’s your driver’s license.” • “You make your own rules.” • “You don’t listen to me.” • “You’ll kill children.” His behavior is full of assumptions and accusations in an irresponsible way. This place is a scam. If I recommend it to anyone, it will become my problem. That's why I come back to give 1 star review. If you want English support, find another coach elsewhere, every German can speak a bit English(if they want to). And if Detlef threatened you during the process, just walk away. There are other German people, other party, other options, in Germany, he is in no position to threaten anyone."

"I had a mixed experience at this driving school. The receptionists were helpful during the registration and theory lessons, and the theory classes were informative. However, my experience with the practical lessons was totally negative(with the only english speaking instructor). As a complete beginner, I expected guidance and encouragement, but my instructor’s approach was quite discouraging. Instead of focusing on teaching and correcting mistakes constructively, he often made personal remarks, including repeatedly saying this is not my country of origin whenever I made a mistake. Rather than simply explaining what I needed to do, he turned my questions into personal issues, which made the learning process more stressful than it needed to be. Being told repeatedly that while trying to learn was not helpful and made it difficult to stay confident behind the wheel. Also surprisingly, no one from the receptionsits asked why i wanted to quit or change driving school and even did not express any sort of apology after i told the reason. If you're a foreigner or from a developing country, you may want to consider this before registering, as the instructor's attitude might make the learning process difficult for you."

"I highly recommend this school for anyone looking for tech-savvy, English-speaking staff and clear, outcome-focused communication. The team is kind and genuinely helpful, and they even offer lessons with an electric car. After disappointing experiences with two other schools—one that refused to provide invoices and went silent for months, and another with an aggressive instructor who made me lose my love for driving— Oscar was a breath of fresh air. My instructor, Detlef, was super calm, clear, and respectful of my prior lessons, focusing only on what I was missing to pass the exam. I made a few mistakes in the warm up class just before exam and he kept his cool , which really helped in focusing during the exam. The pricing is slightly higher, but it’s worth it for the smooth and professional experience. Overall, a fair and positive experience that I highly recommend."

"I highly recommend Driving School Oscar! I went through the license exchange process and had Detlef as my instructor—he was kind, patient, and helped me understand both the rules and their purpose for safe driving. The office staff were also very responsive, and communication in English (and even Spanish) was easy. It's a long process, but trust the school—they really know what they're doing!"

"I had an excellent experience with this driving school! I was learning from scratch and my instructor Detlef was incredibly supportive and genuinely cared about teaching me everything needed to become a good and safe driver. He has a great personality, I enjoyed our lessons very much. The office staff was efficient - always responsive and helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance with scheduling. All this paid off - I'm happy to say I passed my driving exam on the first attempt! Definitely recommend this driving school to anyone looking for English-speaking learning in a supportive environment."

"Very good English speaking driving school. German bureaucracy was fully explained and I could easily get my driver’s license at 17 years old. Driving teachers are professionals and I passed my driving exam in one try."

"This review is specifically around the first aid course (in English) offered here (as I did not use their driving school services). The first aid course was really helpful. The instructor was very well prepared, and made what could have been a tough day, rather engaging. We also had an actual minor medical emergency occur while we were there, and got to see the instructor in action - bolstering our confidence in his abilities. I wouldn't hesitate doing your first aid course here."

"Summary: I would highly recommend comparing other schools, as nearly everywhere they speak English, offer MUCH better prices (much lower registration fee, lower prices for lessons and exams), and have more instructors and cars, allowing you to start practice much faster. I came to this school to change my driver's license from another country to a local one. They initially provided detailed steps without mentioning their prices and wait times. However, after passing the theory test and contacting the school again, I discovered that I would need to pay 450 euro for registering me with school, additional 250 euros for scheduling the exam (not including 130 euros for DEKRA). They also told me about the long wait times to start driving lessons and exams. For example, in July, they told me I wouldn’t be able to take the exam before November. Overall, the initial information was misleading, and the costs are excessively high. First aid course – I agree with many here. The coach was selfish and rude, he mostly liked just his own jokes and once even made the whole group wait so he could have a quick smoke outside. You would also expect at least a water-cooler for a 7 hours long class, but nope: no snacks, no water. But on the other hand – it is easy to book, it is done in proper English and with activities, so to sum it up – it’s ok."
